Have your say on standards for Safe Spaces

Consultation is now open on the safety and quality priorities for safe spaces.

Safe Space services are places where people experiencing distress can seek support from peers with lived experience in a non-clinical environment.

The Commission is seeking information about what makes a safe and high-quality Safe Space. Information is being sought from people with lived experience of distress or suicidal thoughts or crisis, their families, and carers, as well as from the lived experience workforce, healthcare professionals and others with an interest supporting safe spaces.

You can share your views on safe and high-quality safe spaces before Monday 28 August by:

  • Participating in a focus group discussion. The Commission is jointly facilitating focus group discussions with lived experience representatives and partner organisations, including Roses in the Ocean, Lived Experience Australia, and the National Mental Health Consumer and Carer Forum. Register now.
