Performance measures for Australian laboratories reporting cervical cytology (Third Edition 2015)
This document was published by the National Pathology Accreditation Advisory Council (NPAAC) whilst under the governance of the Department of Health and Aged Care. From 1 July 2021, the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (the Commission) assumed responsibility for coordinating the National Pathology Accreditation (NPA) Scheme and supporting the development of the pathology accreditation standards.
Performance measures for Australian laboratories reporting cervical cytology (Third Edition 2015) is currently in use.

The Performance Measures for Australian Laboratories Reporting Cervical Cytology (Third Edition 2015) is a revision of the 2006 edition and defines the key elements of the day-to-day performance of a laboratory reporting cervical cytology to ensure a high degree of accuracy in the reporting of results.
The standards apply to cytology used as a primary screening test.
