MedicineInsight
MedicineInsight is a primary care quality improvement program using data from Australian general practices to support best practice and identify key areas of improvement.
About MedicineInsight
MedicineInsight supports quality improvement in Australian primary care and the post-market surveillance of medicines.
The program allows GPs to reflect on their own patterns of prescribing and patient care and compare these with other GPs in their practice. These may be benchmarked at local, regional and national levels.
Participating practices are offered customised quality improvement recommendations for alignment with best practice and identify key areas for improvement to benefit patients.
MedicineInsight is now open to new practices
To join the program please email us at MedicineInsight@safetyandquality.gov.au or call 1300 721 726 between 0800 and 1600 Monday to Friday.
Practice reconsent
In the transition of MedicineInsight to the Commission in 2023, and for purposes of data security, all previously participating practices in the program are required to sign a new practice agreement. By reconsenting, a participating practice can continue to support quality improvement in Australian primary care.
The Commission collects, uses and stores MedicineInsight information strictly in line with Australian privacy laws. Find out more about MedicineInsight Privacy, Security and Governance.
