Overview
Cataract is the most common elective surgery diagnosis in Australia.
The Commission develops clinical care standards with advice from multidisciplinary topic working group that include clinicians, consumers, and researchers.
National Antimicrobial Prescribing Survey (NAPS)
The Hospital NAPS and the Surgical NAPS collect data on appropriateness of antimicrobial prescribing in hospitals.
The Aged Care NAPS collects information about antimicrobial use and infections in aged care.

The groupers are in Excel and SAS and use existing data that is routinely generated from the patient medical record in accordance with the specifications developed by the Commission. The groupers were developed by the Independent Hospital Pricing Authority in consultation with the Commission.
