Online modules on antimicrobial prescribing in hospitals

The modules are aimed at prescribers in their early stages of clinical practice, nurse practitioners, hospital pharmacists, and university students. The modules address specific areas where antimicrobial use in hospitals can be supported to further improve prescribing practices. The topics covered by the modules, which are available on the NPS MedicineWise website, are:

  • Introduction to antimicrobial prescribing
  • Bacteraemia
  • Catheter-associated urinary tract infections
  • Community acquired pneumonia
  • Surgical antibiotic prophylaxis
