Clinical assessment and diagnosis is an important aspect of providing comprehensive care to patients.

Clinical assessment and diagnosis includes the identification of conditions, diseases, injuries or needs of a patient based on clinical information obtained through a process of examination and investigation. 

This paper provides information about Element 1 of the essential elements of comprehensive care. It is part of a series of resources supporting implementation of comprehensive care that are based on six essential elements.
