Reprocessing reusable medical equipment gap analysis tool

AS 5369:2023 Reprocessing of reusable medical devices and other devices in health and non-health related facilities is the national standard used by health services to inform implementation of Action 3.17 of the NSQHS Standards and Action 3.13 of Primary and Community Healthcare Standards.

The use of this tool is optional. This tool is designed to support health service organisations assess their compliance to AS 5369:2023, and to support development and monitoring of quality improvement plans for reprocessing of reusable medical equipment, instruments and devices. This tool should be used by stakeholders within a health service organisation that use, reprocess or have oversight of reusable medical devices. This tool is not suitable for risk assessing the reprocessing of devices labelled as single use.
