Imaging practices
There are 4,462 accredited imaging practices as of 31 December 2023. A substantial majority of the practices (81%) are in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.

Imaging practice diversity
An imaging service involves one of five primary modalities:
- Ultrasound
- Computed tomography
- Diagnostic radiology
- Nuclear medicine
- Magnetic resonance imaging
Figure 2 shows the percentage of imaging practices which offer one to five imaging services as of 31 December 2023. A little under 2 in 3 practices offer only one imaging service.

Imaging services
There are 8,153 accredited imaging modalities as of 31 December 2023. A little under one-half (43%) are ultrasound services.
