Australians choosing to have cosmetic surgery will be better protected by new standards introduced today. These will improve patient safety in facilities where cosmetic surgery is performed.

Today the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care released the National Safety and Quality Cosmetic Surgery Standards as part of broader reforms agreed by Health Ministers. 

Today, the Commission has released the second edition of the National Consensus Statement: Essential elements for safe and high-quality end-of-life care (Consensus Statement).
