Latest AGAR report
The AGAR Surveillance Outcome Programs 2022 Report was released in December 2023 and reveals the latest data on AMR and epidemiologic and genetic patterns in bloodstream infections in Australia.
Overview
The Australian Society for Antimicrobials (ASA) coordinates AGAR as a collaboration of clinicians and scientists with involvement from microbiology laboratories in all Australian states and territories.
AGAR collects, analyses and reports on AMR from data submitted by participating laboratories, including metropolitan and rural, and private and public sites. AGAR also collects demographic, treatment and outcome data.
AGAR publishes a range of articles, presentations and reports on its website. AGAR prepares annual reports for the following three programs, formerly known as Sepsis Outcome Programs:
- Australian Enterococcus Surveillance Outcome Program (AESOP)
- Australian Staphylococcal Surveillance Outcome Program (ASSOP)
- Gram-negative Surveillance Outcome Program (GnSOP)
