Antimicrobial Stewardship in Australian Health Care (the AMS Book), initially published in 2018, continues to be updated and enhanced with additional evidence, information, and topic areas to inform antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) strategies, interventions, and implementation across a range of healthcare settings.

The latest chapter of Antimicrobial Stewardship in Australian Health Care (the AMS Book) - Antimicrobial Stewardship and Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) in Hospital in the Home (HITH) and other settings - is now available.
Overview
The AMS Book continues to provide the latest evidence around strategies and interventions to support the implementation of AMS across a range of settings.
- Chapters 1–7 of the AMS Book provide strategies for implementing and sustaining AMS.
- Chapters 8–12 examine the roles of the various clinicians involved in successful AMS programs.
- Chapters 13 and beyond have been progressively published on this website, and include consideration of AMS matters across a range of settings, including general practice dental practice, aged care, private hospitals, outpatient settings and rural and remote areas; and in the care of children; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Further consideration of topic areas for inclusion in the AMS Book will continue. As new resources become available, these will be added as hyperlinks to each chapter, or to the appendices.
