This resource provides an overview of the types of personal protective equipment (PPE) used and patient placement requirements for standard precautions and for transmission-based precautions. A local risk assessment should always be undertaken to determine the most appropriate PPE and patient placement for the delivery of care. 

This issue includes items on the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards user guide for acute and community mental health services, the UK’s Women’s Health Strategy, medication safety, falls, decision support, patient decision aids, virtual care, COVID-19 and more.

The PBS eCMC project is to support electronic prescribing of chemotherapy medicines in hospitals and other defined care settings. The proposed information requirements are a list of data entry fields that must be available within oncology systems to support electronic prescribing as part of the conformance requirements set by the Australian Digital Health Agency.
