The purpose of this guide is to provide practical guidance for managers and practitioners responsible for credentialing, and for determining and managing, a health practitioner’s scope of clinical practice. This is an ancillary guide only. It does not replace or supersede state, territory or organisational policies on credentialing.

The Commission produced the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards Impact Report to provide an overview of the changes associated with implementation of the first edition of the NSQHS Standards; a ground-breaking initiative that has improved the safety and quality of health care across Australia. The report identifies areas where improvements have been made, as well as where further work is needed.
