After completing the prerequisite module, the learner must enrol in the Hand Hygiene Auditor Educator (HAE) Training Pathway in the NHHI LMS. The HAE Training Pathway includes:
- Hand Hygiene Auditor Educator eLearning module
- Hand Hygiene Auditor Educator Facilitated Training Session (face-to-face or online)
- Hand Hygiene Auditor Educator Scenario-based Assessment.
Hand Hygiene Auditor Educator eLearning module
The learner must complete the Hand Hygiene Auditor Educator eLearning module in the NHHI LMS within 12 months of the prerequisite eLearning module. The Hand Hygiene Auditor Educator eLearning module provides information on:
- The importance of Hand Hygiene Auditor training within the National Hand Hygiene Initiative
- How to become a Hand Hygiene Auditor and a Hand Hygiene Auditor Educator
- The role of the Hand Hygiene Auditor Educator
- The characteristics of adult learners and the different ways that adults learn
- How to adapt facilitation strategies for different learning styles
- The importance of feedback and how to use different techniques to provide feedback.
This module prepares the learner for the Hand Hygiene Auditor Educator Facilitated Training Session.
Hand Hygiene Auditor Educator Facilitated Training Session
Completing the Hand Hygiene Auditor Educator eLearning Module entitles the learner to undertake an online or face-to-face Hand Hygiene Auditor Educator Facilitated Training Session with a valid Hand Hygiene Auditor Educator. The training session can be self-enrolled or enrolled by Hand Hygiene Auditor Educators in the NHHI LMS. This training session provides information on:
- The characteristics of adult learning and strategies that apply when facilitating auditor training sessions
- The roles of a hand hygiene auditor educator in training hand hygiene auditors and hand hygiene auditor educators
- How to organise training sessions and access the facilitation resources
- The revalidation requirement for Hand Hygiene Auditor Educators.
Hand Hygiene Auditor Educator Scenario-based Assessment
The learner must complete the Hand Hygiene Auditor Educator Scenario-based Assessment within four weeks of the facilitated training session. The learners need to submit a written response outlining how they would respond to a scenario they may encounter when facilitating auditor training. The response will be forwarded to their facilitated training session’s Hand Hygiene Auditor Educator to mark.
The learner needs to complete this assessment within four weeks of completing the facilitated training session. Otherwise, they will not be able to complete the Hand Hygiene Auditor Educator training pathway and will need to re-do the Hand Hygiene Auditor Educator eLearning module and the facilitated training session before they can attempt the assessment.
Once the learner completes the Hand Hygiene Auditor Educator training pathway in the NHHI LMS, they will be added to the HAE domain in the NHHI LMS. They can log in to the NHHI LMS using the same username and password and start scheduling their training session.
